Hey! Remember Super Bowl XXXIII? It was that great game played for the 1998 NFL season in Miami, Florida. It had an amazing half time show with Gloria Estefan, Stevie Wonder, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, future Hall of Famers John Elway and Shannon Sharpe, and was announced by the classic tandem of Pat Summerall and John Madden. It was a game for the ages, and look! Look at that hat! It was when the …
… Minnesota Vikings won the Super Bowl?
Shared by a fellow on Twitter, this appears to be one of those funny "Gifts for kids in Africa" apparel items, because I don't remember buying ten of these and wearing them proudly at any victory parade in 1999. Despite the fact that I don't remember much of 1999 doesn't really matter here, because we all know this hat is a LIE. We remember the kneel down, the kick, the wide right, the stupid Falcons who looked like the damn Broncos of 2014 against the Broncos of 1999. What are the odds?
Regardless, this is one of those apparel items I think any fan would love to have. Sure, losing in a title game like we did hurt, and sucks huge, even 15-ish years later, but holy shit, REAL documentation of something that says the Vikings won the Super Bowl?! Are you kidding me?! It will probably be the most real, tangible, piece of evidence of a fake thing that ever happened that you could ever get your hands on. I would sleep in this thing every night.
And of course it would be stained. Thoroughly. With my tears.
Stupid Denny Green.
